Downdraft tables are used extensively in work places. Downdraft tables work with the principle of bottom suction of harmful gases and dusts that occur during welding, grinding, odor control, deburring, polishing, powder mixing, sandblasting, sharpening, soldering, spray painting, plasma cutting, polishing, chipping, plating, engraving, cleaning, bonding, milling and similar processes.
Without any doubt, comfortable workplaces with breathable air is essential for safety and productivity. The Downdraft table can be connected to the central ventilation system without a filter or to a single fan to discharge the dirty air outside. Filtered Downdraft tables are suitable to work with a surface filtering system. PTFE coated U-TEX cartridge type filters clean 98% of the dirty air sucked by the Downdraft table.
Downdraft table returns the cleaned air into the working environment and does not cause any loss of heat, hence provides energy saving. Downdraft tables must have an emergency stop button and an earthing lug. Downdraft tables should be produced in accordance with employee health and safety criteria. There must be a flame-retardant pre-filter and cleanable metal filters in the Downdraft tables.
İn the U-TEX Cartridge filter models, the main filter elements are periodically cleaned with 6 bar air. Different filter and tables with different features are used for smoke and corrosive materials for flammable and explosive dusts. In environments with explosive and flammable gas, dust or vapor mixing with air, an Ex-proof Downdraft table should be used. UAS® Acrobat Handles or UAS® Flame-retardant polyurethane hoses are connected to the tablet o allow suction from long distances.
Downdraft table is an industrial tool. It must be sturdy enough to carry parts that weigh 1000 kg. It should be painted with baked powder paint that is resistant to impacts. In order to prevent the sparks from disturbing nearby workers and dispersing the environment during grinding, there should be flap wings that can be opened 180o. The visor blades must have fixing mechanism to be used when it’s necessary. The visors should be attached and removed easily. Thus, it will be possible to put large pieces on the table at any certain point. The steel working surface with high-quality hot-dip galvanized coating must be very robust and resistant to abrasion. FRP gratings should be used for materials that are sensitive, to prevent them from being scratched and damaged. The Downdraft tables should be moved from one place to another and fixed easily with the help of its industrial wheels with stops. It should be ergonomic. Ergonomics are very important in terms of preventing dangers in the workspace, reducing the rate of potential accidents and injuries, company efficiency, employee productivity and safety.
During the welding process of melting two metals, harmful gases and smoke come out which causes serious health and safety issues for the worker.
